On 15 March 2021, Adivasi communities from central India came together at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to demand a separate tribal classification in the religion section of the national census. Additionally, they demanded that tribal languages be included in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution, which recognises the languages of India.
