Episode 4: Vishnu Sharma in conversation with Aathira Konikkara on Kangana Ranaut’s role in the BJP’s battle for Bollywood. Konikkara, a staff writer at The Caravan, discusses the June 2022 cover story on Ranaut and her recent avatar as Narendra Modi’s most strident supporter. Konikkara, however, believes that the avatar will not last forever. “Till yesterday, Kangana was known to be a liberal, today, she is a ‘sanghi,’ tomorrow, she might just be pro-congress,” Konikkara says. “Tomorrow if the BJP loses power, it is fairly possible that they will make a movie on Shaheen Bagh and Akshay Kumar will play an anti-CAA activist.”
