“You can book me in another case, but our fight will not stop”: Asif Iqbal Tanha

Delhi Police arrested Tanha on 21 May 2020, in relation to a case concerning violence at the Jamia Millia Islamia University the previous year, during protests against the CAA and the NRC. The police subsequently charged Tanha under FIR 59, a first-information report alleging a conspiracy behind the communal violence that broke out in northeast Delhi in February 2020. Along several others, he was charged under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
