When Poor Box Productions first staged Vagina Monologues, the celebrated play penned by Eve Ensler, in India—they encountered both bouquets and brickbats. Largely well received in Mumbai and banned from Chennai, the play deals with both the minds and the bodies of women from all walks of life. With the right balance of mirth, tears and drama, the play is sure to strike a chord.
