Taj Mahotsav

About 400 legendary artisans from different parts of the country display their exquisite works of art at the Taj Mahotsav that is celebrated from 18 to 27 February every year at Shilpgram near the Eastern gate of the Taj Mahal.  The works include wood/stone carvings from Tamil Nadu, Bamboo/cane work from Northeast India, papier maché work from South India and Kashmir, marble and zardozi work from Agra, Pottery from Khurja and hand printing from Farrukhabad. There are cultural performances like folk and classical music and dances of various regions, especially the Brij Bhumi. The Mahotsav also hosts performers in classical, semi-classical and popular art forms from all over the world.
