Every season, the Symphony Orchestra of India brings Mumbai some orchestral classics in music rarely or never heard before in the city. This February, resident conductor Zane Dalal, conducting all the concerts in the 2013 season, will open with an all-Beethoven concert. The next concert includes Emil Nicolaus von Řezniček, Brahms and Tchaikovsky with Benjamin Frith as soloist. Violinist Marat Bisengaliev will partner with Benjamin Frith on piano in a chamber music concert featuring Mozart, Strauss and Mendelssohn. The final concert of the season includes Glinka, Tchaikovsky and a jazz-influenced triple concerto for banjo, double bass and tabla by Béla Fleck, Edgar Meyer and Zakir Hussain.
