This exhibition by Vinita Karim attempts to find out how flyovers and skyscrapers have augmented the natural horizons of cities and transformed them irrevocably. Vinita Karim was born in India, studied art in Sweden and Indonesia and later worked in Malaysia. She has attempted to reinvent the age-old pursuit of landscape art by infusing it with fantasy and abstraction, influenced by experiences and stories from all over the globe. Within these broad strokes and large changes there are smaller constants which define her work: the details of life, the colours of the market, the persistent flow in and out of the city, and the rivers.
