William Shakespeare’s Macbeth is a play about a regicide and its aftermath. Over the centuries, it has been adapted to film, television, opera, novels, comic books, and many other mediums. On 7 February, Cathaayatra and Out of Cocoon Theatre Company, London will present Macbeth at the India Habitat Center, New Delhi. The play is produced by Sameer Thakur and directed by Jarka Heller. Cathaayatra, a Delhi theatre group, was started out of a passion for theatre and the lack of opportunity for young people. Involving young people from rural and semi-urban areas, the group works at the grassroots level through the arts, to explore the possibilities of theatre for awareness and change.
