Onlookers

In the first solo exhibition of his work, artist Ashutosh Bhardawaj tries to address the issues of clichés and stereotypes. He also looks at our view of the world and the self in this age of media explosion and the continuous flow and chatter of information. The installation ‘Fear Me (Not)’, for example, presents the artist’s sardonic take on idols. Bhardawaj creates fictitious idols using cricket balls balanced on tall pedestals and made to look like donation boxes. He has previously presented his work in group shows in New York, South Korea and New Delhi.

Onlookers, until 14 July, 10 am to 6:30 pm, 02/32, Kamal Mansion, 2nd Floor, Arthur Bunder Road, Colaba, Mumbai. For more information, visit www.guildindia.com
