Deepika Arwind’s debut play is about Godfrey Singh Joseph, Sarayu, and Wazir Abdullah—three gangsters who run a small company together. Each has a specific role in the company: Godfrey is the ‘kingpin’, Sarayu the distractor, and Wazir the doer, as the writer explained in an interview with The Hindu in May. Trouble arises when the delicate balance between their work and personal lives is upset. The Ranga Shankara performance will be directed by Arwind. The play was shortlisted for the MetroPlus Playwright Award 2013.
