Navratna: India’s National Treasure Artists

The exhibition features works that were declared national treasures in 1970s. These were created by nine artists—Raja Ravi Varma, Amrita Shergill, Rabindranath Tagore, Jamini Roy, Abanindranath Tagore, Nandalal Bose, Gaganendranath Tagore, Sailoz Mookherjea and Nicholas Roerich. From Bose’s hand painted pages of the first copy of the Constitution of India, to Roy’s painting featuring a tableau of dancers and musicians, the exhibition showcases diverse styles of art.
