India’s quietest neighbour, Bhutan, will be the centre of all literary attention this May. Organised by Siyahi, Mountain Echoes will focus on writings of and from the Himalayas. The aim is to engage in a cultural dialogue and understand Indian and Bhutanese literature in all their forms and dimensions. Thimphu will host the event, and Bhutan’s Queen, Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck, will be the chief patron. The festival will have in attendance literary heavyweights such as Gulzar and celebrities like Rajkumar Hirani, among others. It will also bring some international authors, poets and performers together.
