Material Considerations

A show presented by Blueprint 12, an art venture by Mandira Lamba and Ridhi Bhalla. Curated by Deeksha Nath, Material Consideration will showcase works in various mediums, including installation, video, photography, textile, canvas, paper and sculpture. It will focus on exciting developments, such as the increase in the application of visual language to address larger socio-political concerns—urban expansion, environmental abuse, and exploitation of labour. The show has been curated with the view that the Indian art market is saturated with established artists. While they mark the coming of age of contemporary Indian art, it is the newer generation of artists who provide the most discursive opportunities as they point to future directions.
