The five-day festival, organised by the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema and the Confederation of Indian Industry, will screen 30 films across multiple venues, along with symposia, screenings, workshops and cultural events to promote Asian cinema. The Korean film, With The Girl of Black Soil, directed by Jeon Soo-II, will open the festival. The film centres on Young-rim, whose father has black-lung disease and nowhere to go now that their house has been scheduled for demolition. As the clock ticks, she prepares to make an unthinkable compromise. This story of a coal-town family collected an impressive number of awards in the arthouse and international film festival circuit. Over 50 film personalities from Asian countries will attend the festival. The Indian line-up includes Shyam Benegal, Goutam Ghose, Anurag Kashyap, Sharmila Tagore, Aparna Sen, Konkona Sen Sharma, Rahul Bose, Irrfan Khan and Sudhir Mishra.
