In the title work of this exhibition, Gieve Patel paints an enigmatic figure riding on the footboard of a train, separated from the three figures seated inside. Through the use of vibrant acrylics on canvas, Patel’s works insist on making visible figures that are often sidelined and vulnerable in society.
