Early Modern Indian Art

01 August, 2011

The Mohile Parikh Center at the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Mumbai, is offering a short course in art history this August. The three-day course will trace the notion of ‘modern’ as it is revealed through thematic and stylistic changes in art from courtly traditions up through the 1940s. The course does not delve into the intricacies of theoretical practices but aims at ‘looking’ at art and attempting to ‘read’ it contextually. The deadline to register for the programme is 20 August.
