This September, Gallery Espace takes up an offbeat project—Conscious-Subconscious, with Manjunath Kamath. The artist has been allowed to work on the gallery walls and treat them like a canvas, drawing and painting images from his subconscious, or consciously—through interaction with visitors. His finished work will be displayed starting 27 August. This studio-within-a-gallery experiment is being undertaken at a private gallery for the first time in India. Kamath exclaimed, “There won’t be any canvases to buy... One should just come and share the moment of an artist’s creativity.”
