Sculpture by Sea is a major annual outdoor sculpture exhibition in Australia that is open to the public, featuring sculptures made by Australian and international artists. This year a sculpture by Subodh Kerkar titled “The Chilly” was selected by Sculpture by Sea from among 500 submissions from 25 countries. The work is a reminder of the history of the chilly, which was brought to India by the Portugese in the 15th century. While it is on display at the exhibition in Australia, another edition of the sculpture will also be on display in Goa.
The Chilly, 18 October to 4 November, Kerkar Art Complex, Gaurawadda Holiday Street, Calangute, Goa. For more information, visit www.subodhkerkar.com.
