The three-day animation festival will celebrate Japanese Anime and Manga (comics) in India. Cine Darbaar, in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan, Directorate of Film Festivals, Japan Foundation, is organising the festival. It will have workshops, special discussions and a short-film competition. Short Anime corner will screen the ten best short films and the top three will be awarded. The festival will also have an exhibition of Manga in English along with a photography exhibition about Japan. Cine Darbaar’s sister organisation, Indian Auteur, a film journal, will publish a special issue on Anime for the festival with the help of Japan Foundation. The festival will open with 5 Centimeters Per Second: a chain of short stories about their distance (2007).
