The play is based on Rabindranath Tagore’s 13th and last novel, Char Adhyay, written when he was 72. It is considered to be some of his most volatile content. Who is a real partiot? Is liberation to be achieved by rhetorical slogans, militarism, conformity and ruthless external disciplines? How can one be true to one self in the making of a nation? Questions that make this tragic story of two lovers central to our times. This 90-minute enactment of the book is produced by the Centre for Film And Drama, and directed by Prakash Belawadi.
