‘Between Heaven And Earth’

01 February, 2010

Like the great Russian painter Nicholas Roerich, with whom he struck a close friendship and shared a vision, the late miniature artist Bireswar Sen was greatly drawn to mountains, painting the Himalayas again and again. Anant Art Gallery presents Between Heaven and Earth, a mini-retrospective of more than 80 small-format paintings in watercolours by Bireswar Sen from 19 February.  Curated by Professor BN Goswamy, the artist’s works have been thematically divided into six sections titled Caves, Clouds and Skies, Mountains, The Human Spirit, Water and Woods. To be inaugurated by Ruskin Bond, the exhibition preview at Triveni Kala Sangam on 19 February will also have a poetry recitation by BN Goswamy and Surjit Patel followed by a Bharatanatyam recital by Malavika Sarukkai.

Between Heaven and Earth,’ 19 to 28 February, at Shridharani Gallery, Triveni Kala Sangam, 205, Tansen Marg, New Delhi. For further enquiries contact Shilpa Abraham at 9999160588 or Poonam Goel at 981143131
