These laws impact us equally: Women of the Tikri farmers’ sit-in

Since late November, thousands of farmers from Punjab and Haryana have been sitting at Delhi’s borders to protest the farm laws recently enacted by the central government. While the protests have been largely male dominated, many women have been participating in the sit in at Tikri, on the Delhi-Haryana border. On 6 December, hundreds of women, of all ages, were present at the protest site. This included women members of the Punjab Students’ Union, who have been at Tikri since the beginning of the sit in.
