Role & Responsibilities

* Assisting the photo department with researching and sourcing photos for all stories that appear in The Caravan. This includes research for magazine pieces as well as the web exclusive articles.

* Coordinating with photo departments/archives in newsrooms across the country to source photographs.

* Working with the photo interns and other editorial staff at The Caravan to organise and caption photos from the archives.

* Creating and updating databases of photographers and photo sources.

* Coordinating with the editorial and administrative staff to process payments to photographers and photo agencies.

* Assisting multimedia team in sourcing images, archiving and sorting footage.

* Coordinating or conducting shoots for quick news stories and web exclusives.

* Carrying out all administrative assistant roles related to the creative and editorial department wherever required

Prerequisites

* 1-2 years of research experience, with interest in photographs and other visual materials.

* Skilled at researching and identifying image sources on the web.

* Efficiency, commitment to high-quality work, ability to find and cultivate sources. Understanding of copyright is preferred.

The New Delhi office is a small shop, with the environment of a start-up, and therefore requires team players with a willingness to be flexible.

This is a full-time position. Night, holiday, and weekend work may be required.
