Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Visual Communication/Graphic Design from a reputed design institute.
Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience in publication design; preferably magazine design. Experience in illustration is preferred.

Company Description: The Caravan occupies a singular position among Indian magazines. Its stories present a unique mix of detailed reportage and lively and vivid writing, with a commitment to the art of storytelling, whether the subject is politics, culture or art.
The Caravan is published by the Delhi Press Group, one of India’s leading publishers. Started in 1939, Delhi Press today publishes 33 magazines in 10 languages.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Working with typography for magazine layouts and covers, in response to stories published in the magazine.
2. Illustrating for short-form news stories on The Caravan’s web-exclusive section.
3. Ideating with The Caravan's creative director for illustrations related to longform stories in the print magazine, creating thumbnails and mockups.
4. Conceptualising design templates for social media across Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
5. Designing layouts for new additions to The Caravan’s website such as newsletters, interactive stories, subscription campaigns etc.
6. Working with The Caravan team to assist for graphic design on various other tasks such as video templates and merchandise.
Key Skills:
1. High proficiency in Adobe software, in particular InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
2. Ability to design innovative layouts for long form text and image stories.
3. Familiarity with contemporary web and social media layouts.
4. Keen attention to detail.
Additional skills sought:
Experience and expertise with UI and UX.
Experience and expertise in illustration.
Requirements:The Caravan’s office is a small shop, and requires team players with a willingness to be flexible. This is a full-time position, for the duration of one year. Night, holiday and weekend work may be required.
