We are currently inviting applications for an internship programme specifically dedicated to translating the magazine’s stories into Hindi. These include reportage, essays and commentary, in both short and long form, all published in English. Interns will work on stories from the archives as well as the current issues. They will be expected to exercise sound editorial judgment while translating stories, and also proofread them closely. They may also be required to do transcriptions of interviews and other audio materials into Hindi. Applicants should have a post graduate or undergraduate degree in Hindi literature and an exemplary command over both Hindi and English.

The internship is full-time—from 11 am to 7 pm, Monday through Saturday. Interns will be paid a stipend. The Caravan requires a three-month commitment from interns, and accepts applications on a rolling basis. We are currently reviewing applications for a position that will be vacant in first week of August 2017. The deadline for receiving applications is 10 July 2017. To apply, please send a cover letter describing your interest in The Caravan and the Hindi translation internship, as well as your overall career goals. Please also send a copy of your CV, a writing sample, and contact information for two references. Application materials should be addressed to ‘Internship Coordinator’ and sent to [email protected]. Please be sure to note ‘Hindi translation internship’ in the subject line of your email. The application, CV and the covering letter must be in English.

If you have any questions regarding the internship, kindly write to the same email address with your queries.
