The Caravan is published by the Delhi Press Group, one of India’s leading publishers. Started in 1939, Delhi Press today publishes 33 magazines in 10 languages.

 

We are looking for a Fact Checker who will spearhead efforts to maintain The Caravan’s high editorial and factual standards, and will be in charge of verifying the factual accuracy of all content that is published.

 

Primary responsibilities:

· Ensuring the factual accuracy of all pieces in The Caravan.

· Working with writers and editors to strengthen the arguments of published pieces.

· Working closely with the editorial, design, photo, and production departments to ensure quality and timeliness with regard to copy, and reviewing and signing off on all content before it is published.

 

Requirements:

Candidates with experience in journalism are preferred. The ideal applicant would be detail-oriented with an impeccable understanding of numbers, sources and quotations. Applicants should be familiar with navigating databases and sourcing reports. They should exhibit sound editorial judgement and an enthusiasm for The Caravan’s commitment to improving the quality of writing and reporting in India. Candidates from marginalised communities are encouraged to apply.

 

The Caravan’s office is a small shop, and requires team players with a willingness to be flexible. This is a full-time position, for the duration of one year. Night, holiday and weekend work may be required.
