Edited by Deepa Dhanraj and K Lalita
This work of oral history brings together narratives of Muslim women survivors of violence from three places in India that have seen vicious communal conflict: Hyderabad, Mumbai and Gujarat. The voices featured in the work come from different classes, and both rural and urban locations, and their stories span three decades. In their introduction, the editors provide an analytical framework that interrogates and contextualises questions of agency, identity and justice.
