This collection comprises 26 recently translated short stories on rural and urban life. These have been picked from the extensive oeuvre of around five hundred stories by the Gujarati writer Gaurishankar Govardhanram Joshi, known by his pen name Dhumketu, who wrote in the early twentieth century.
