Skinny, with his full mop of hair that resembled a crow’s nest and Toucan-shaped nose, was the Ringo Starr of the group. The silent musician Ken was obviously George Harrison, while I, the wildly ambitious spokesperson with the pudding bowl haircut was probably McCartney. We had to do without a Lennon, as talent was thin on the ground in Bangalore.

It’s the early 1960s and the Trojans, playing at a small cafe in Bangalore, are dreaming of world domination. This is the story of how Biddu got there.
