Kanhaiya Kumar

In February 2016, Kanhaiya Kumar, then the president of the students’ union at Jawaharlal Nehru University, was arrested on charges of sedition for a speech he had allegedly made, locked up in Tihar jail and beaten up on the premises of a courthouse. Upon emerging from jail, he became a young political star. In this memoir, he tells his story, from his childhood in rural Bihar, to his college days in Patna, and finally to his life as a poor student in Delhi.
