Ather Zia
Ather Zia’s intimate ethnography focusses on what she calls “daily transformations and what might emerge as gradual emancipatory processes instigated by a protracted war” in Kashmir. She writes about the work of the Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons, the intergenerational mourning of enforced disappearances and the increase in women’s participation in civilian demonstrations.
