After a bomb blast occurs on a train, Jivan, a Muslim woman, is hounded and becomes a suspect because of a social-media post. The novel, which begins with a curfew and a Facebook discussion on terrorism, follows three intertwined lives, rising religious fanaticism, false accusations and state discrimination against Muslims.
