Swati Sengupta studied English at Jadavpur University and then worked as a journalist for various newspapers in Kolkata. She is currently a freelance writer for newspapers and an author of fiction and non-fiction. Her published works include Half the Field is Mine, Guns on My Red Earth, and The Talking Bird.
