Karuna Dietrich Wielenga is a historian who teaches at Azim Premji University. Her research interests include India’s economic development, the history of workers’ rights and the informal sector. Her book Weaving Histories: The Transformation of the Handloom Industry in South India, c. 1800-1960 will be published in October.
