Waiting For The Wind (Art)

01 April, 2014

The Experimenter gallery’s latest show explores notions of conflict and freedom, using as its entry-point the Armed Forces Special Powers Act, which has been blamed for human rights abuses in India’s north-eastern states and Kashmir. The show includes works from Shilpa Gupta, Iman Issa, Naeem Mohaiemen, Tushar Joag, the Raqs Media Collective and Walid Raad. They examine, with skepticism, India’s claim of being the world’s largest democracy. They also highlight signs of a better future in the north-east.
