Mrinalini Mukherjee Exhibition

In her new bronzes, sculptor Mrinalini Mukherjee works with the organic by manifesting in it the various elements of nature along with a strong note of sexuality. The sculptures are knotted painstakingly with hemp ropes in earthy or rich, glowing colours to evoke a world of burgeoning life, and the phallic forms, the mysterious folds and orifices and the curves and drapes signify sexuality. Thirty of these sculptures in small, medium and large scale will be displayed at Gallery Espace from April 15.
